Privacy Policy

Sportfolio ("we", "us", or "our") is developed and operated by Callum Gorrell as an independent developer. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Sportfolio app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Sportfolio:

Account information: Email address provided via Google or Apple Sign-In, and the display name you enter during onboarding.
Profile data: Age bracket, gender, and sport badge (emoji) that you select.
Athletic performance data: Times, distances, and scores you log for running, biking, swimming, rowing, and strength events.
Social data: Friends connections, challenges, and activity feed posts you create.
Purchase information: Subscription status and in-app purchase records processed through Apple's App Store. We do not store your payment details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide and improve the Sportfolio service:

To create and manage your account
To calculate and display your rankings and performance benchmarks
To enable social features such as friends, challenges, and the activity feed
To process and verify your Pro subscription status
To respond to support requests sent to support@sportfolio.ca

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), hosted on Google's cloud infrastructure. Data is stored in accordance with Google's data protection standards. For more information, see Firebase's Privacy Policy.

4. Third-Party Services

Sportfolio uses the following third-party services:

Google Firebase — authentication and database storage
Google Sign-In — optional sign-in method
Apple Sign-In — optional sign-in method
RevenueCat — in-app purchase and subscription management
Apple App Store — payment processing for subscriptions and purchases

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties except as necessary to operate the service (e.g. the services listed above) or as required by law.

Your public profile information (name, sport profile picture, and rankings) may be visible to other Sportfolio users if you use social features.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete Account), which permanently removes all your personal data and performance records from our systems.

7. Children's Privacy

Sportfolio is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@sportfolio.ca.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data including the right to access, correct, or delete your information. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@sportfolio.ca.

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including using Firebase's built-in security rules and encrypted data transmission. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
